Wind energy
Nowadays we are bombarded with negative reports and penetrating documentaries about the effects of global warming on our climate. Industrial countries place combating global climate change high on the agenda, while in developing countries air pollution caused by fossil fuels is of great environmental concern. By 2030 the demand for power - in particular, electricity - will have increased by almost 60%. While sources of fossil fuels are not inexhaustible, wind power is an inexhaustible 'fuels', almost freely available everywhere - and with no environmental impact.
The dependency on fossil fuels and the resultant emissions of greenhouse gases will need to be reduced by offering economic alternatives. Wind energy has demonstrated that it offers the most cost-efficient and reliable solution amongst other renewables, and that it has no difficulty in competing with coal, oil, and gas. Moreover, if the external costs of fossil fuels and nuclear power like the additional pollution and health costs are taken into account, wind power is actually more economical.
